Caring for our Community
We believe in the spirit of community and demonstrate this in countless ways from our strong participation in the annual United Way campaign to our leadership in science education and reform through our partnership with the Kansas Life Sciences Institute. And through Bayer's Making Science Make Sense program, employee volunteers help ignite a love for science among middle school students by providing hands-on, inquiry-based instruction and demonstrations.
Protecting Our Planet
In keeping with our global mission statement, "Bayer: Science for a Better Life," we are dedicated to enabling the
next generation to live and work in a sustainable environment. Each year, Bayer provides 12 students from across the
globe the opportunity to learn about environmental sustainability, global climate changes issues and freshwater
ecology at the International Bayer Sustainability Summer Camp.
For 2010, Bayer Animal Health will send one especially
environmentally-minded student (age 14 - 16) to the two-week camp. The camp will take place from July 16 - 28 in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Fueling Economic Development
Bayer Animal Health and our president and general manager, Joerg Ohle played a leadership role in establishing the Kansas City Animal Health Corridor, which cultivates a climate of opportunity for animal health and nutrition companies to thrive. Today, Joerg Ohle serves as chairman of the Kansas City Animal Health Corridor's advisory committee and Kansas City is home to the largest concentration of animal health and nutrition companies in the world.
